Friday night is Keg night, or more specifically, the welcome back keg, for us med students and also to welcome our wide-eyed first years.I decided to go there late, as it was still too hot outside. I left the house at 6.30pm. At the time, it still felt quite hot, but by the time I reached to Student Union Complex, it already felt quite cool. There, I met my former PBL tutor, I'll call her ex-tutor. She was waiting for another of her former PBL group to come as arranged, but he didn't turn up. I asked her to come with me instead, and she agreed.

Off we go to the Red Room. But when we reached there, the line was long! It snaked up towards the cinema. We joined the queue, and later the queue grew longer still. Met Hot, she smiled at us, but there was something in her eyes that told me that she expected me to turn up alone, having specifically asked my after PBL whether I was going to the keg. Didn't notice her looking particularly upset, but she later joined a group of friends just ahead of us. It wasn't till around 7.20 did we reached the front door. The person who invited her hasn't turned up yet. Wonder who he is.

We went to the bar and asked for a glass of wine, waited 20 minutes for it, then we went outside. A short while later, we met the guy. It was baldie! I could only manage to drink a cup of wine. By then my face was flushed, amusing my extutor. She implored me to get a hotdog which I did. Baldie later offered to get me some water, which I was extremely grateful for! My throat was so dry I couldn't swallow. Alcohol can sure dehydrate you, especially for people with asian descent. Ex-tutor, being half-asian looked a bit flushed as well.

At around 8.30, after wolfing down the hotdog, I decided to hunt down the members of my former PBL group and show them to my ex-tutor, with Baldie deciding to tow along. off we wnt flitting through the crowd, smelling of alcohol and stale perfume, packed bodies of sweat and body odor. Some people who spotted us thought we were a couple, giving us dirty 'how unethical' looks! Spotted Brilliant and Cheerful in the diustance, two fromer PBL members from my first year. We went up to them. When we reached them, noticed that Baldie wasn't with us. He has a thing for Cheerful, but Cheerful wants nothing to do with him. Showed them to ex-tutor and we had a nice chat together about how our new PBL groups were and whether they were better than our first one.

The time now was 9.15. Ex-tutor said she wanted to go. Okay then, I said. She felt that the effects of the wine had worn off. We said our goodbyes, and off she went into the night. Cutie then turned up. She was looking for someone. Suddenly, she disappeared. What the where did she go? I looked down, She had slipped on the alcohol drenched floor and fell! Me and a few other dudes helped her up, stifling their (our) laughs and just beaming wide smiles. She said she was going outside. Poor thing! I decided to follow.

Met Hot, who fired a sries of questions about my current standing with my ex-tutor. 'who was she?' she asked. 'My ex-tutor', I said. She then asked whether we were together. 'No', I said. 'But she's your ex-tutor', she emphasised. 'Yeah, but we're not together', I replied. 'You sure?' 'Yup'. 'You two look good together, you know, are you sure?' 'Yup'. 'You don't even have a thing for her?' was Hot's next question. 'Yup.' I said. It was like she was making sure we weren't an item, or something. We'll see how this episode will turn out in the future. Anyway, she then turned around and proceeded to the dance floor, where she started dancing with this dude. She sure can dance! Later spotted the dude dancing with other chicks. He sure can dance!

Later, outside, spotted cutie sitting with one of her best friends, looking a bit sheepish after her tumble episode. I joined her to comfort her. Naughty and Annoying (some friends of hers, I suppose) turned up, laughing and pointing. Have they heard/saw? In order to detract attention from herself, she scolded Naughty for smoking, before smoking his cigarette and taking a deep drag. Sigh. Her action sure diverted their attention from her fall. I hope it worked, and her strategy to save what was left of her 'face' succeeds.

Those were the highlights of the night. Other stuff involves meeting up with old friends, making several new ones, seniors and juniors, and an old friend who deferred enterring medicine in order to get his honor, he is now in 1st year. I left at 12.15am. The place was half empty by then. Imagine the job the barstaff has to in cleaning up the mess we made: spilt beer, broken pitchers, glasses...at least not like last year, when they ran out of beer early and people were throwing tables off the balcony.

Until next time, see ya!
